Established in 1882, Ueno Zoo is the oldest zoo in Japan. Spanning an area over 14.3 hectares, Ueno Zoo has become home to more than 2,600 animals from the all four corners. Among all, the most popular animal is clearly the two giant pandas RīRī and Shin Shin, which were sent as gifts by China. The reasonable ticket price has also made the zoo a perfect destination for a family day trip.
