1. A lesson in wadaiko (also known as taiko, a kind of Japanese drum set) offers the chance to enjoy music and dynamic resonance.

2. Sharing a modern facility with other renowned studios, TAIKO-LAB features three practice rooms that can hold classes for groups of around 25 to 50 people.

3. The beating of taiko can be louder than thunder , topping 130 decibels and audible from several kilometres away.

4. Taiko was once used to offer prayers to the gods at festivals and to accompany traditional performing arts.

5. Each taiko is a fantastic piece of artwork and takes almost five years to make, with meticulous drying and processing of the wood and leather.
