Tsukiji Outer Market is adjacent to Tsukiji Inner Market, which is the famed wholesale fish and seafood market. The Outer Market, however, is a shopping district that dates back to the Taisho period (1912–26). It’s lined with more than 400 shops selling everything related to food, from the finest fresh ingredients to slick cooking utensils. Either way, a trip here is not to be missed, especially if you want to take a glimpse at the Inner Market before its relocation in 2017.
