In the 1950s, wholesalers and retailers gathered up in Nippori district and started a black market to handle second-hand clothes and fabric left behind by the American forces. Since then, this renowned fabric district has hosted throngs of visitors both domestic and international. Whether you’re an up and coming designer or just looking for material for your sewing hobby, Fabric Town has you covered. The area is lined with textile, fabric and accessory stores; as well as second-hand kimono and vintage clothing boutiques.
