Here’s your perfect guide to Tokyo

First time to Tokyo? Never fear, a new online portal is launching 13 April to show tourists a new way to explore the vibrant metropolis, whatever your interests are.

Called LIVE JAPAN PERFECT GUIDE TOKYO, the online service promises to be a one-stop hub delivering accurate and detailed news in real time for tourists.

The service will recommend places to visit, provide information on restaurants, shopping and transport and show users the easiest ways to travel within Tokyo. Tourists will also be able to check for up-to-date information on bus and train timings as well as where Wi-Fi access points are located, providing an unprecedented level of convenience.

In addition, visitors can look up events in various regions in Tokyo, all presented in an easy-to-understand format, allowing tourists to find information on the latest trends in Japan, previously almost impossible for tourists to get hold of.

LIVE JAPAN PERFECT GUIDE TOKYO is the brainchild of a number of major Japanese corporations, with central players being restaurant guide Gurunavi Inc, Tokyu Corporation and Tokyo Metro.

The full roster of other players on board include: Airport Transport Services Co, All Nippon Airways Co, Keikyu Corporation, Keisei Electric Railway Co, Narita International Airport Corporation, NTT Broadband Platform Inc, Odakyu Electric Railway Co, Seibu Railway Corporation, Tobu Railway Co, Tokyo Metropolitan Bureau of Transportation and Yamato Transport Co.

Once LIVE JAPAN PERFECT GUIDE TOKYO launches, feedback and data from tourists will be analysed to assess how much the service was used in order to improve it further.
