Tsukiji Fish Market in central Tokyo is a must-go for anyone that has a penchant for fishy delights. 4. Not fond of that fishy smell? Stick to Tsukiji's outer market, which is packed with stalls selling specialty goods like pickles, himono (dried fish) and even sashimi knives.

5. The wholesale area consists of hundreds of small stands, where buyers and sellers hurry along narrow lanes bargaining for the best prices.
